THe sound of Vancouver City when we wony hockey gold!
That clip was awesome...thanks Sami! :)
quite frankly, as a Canadian AND a Vancouverite (and someone who lives about 10 blocks from the venue this TRAVESTY took place, I found the whole closing ceremony a joke and an embarrassment. Giant inflatable beaver? Moose? puh-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze (she screamed)....
After such a magnificent overall event there MUST have been a better way to close than THAT!
I kind of felt bad for you guys as a country during that number. Everything about the Games up until then was--you're right--a magnificent event. Despite the opening ceremony snafu of the mystery non-raising fire-arm (not firearm...fire. arm. er, thingie), everything was completely lovely.
And then the beavers, and the giant hockey players, and the crazy leaf ladies...
I guess all you can do is laugh? And be glad the traffic is better in Vancouver now? (PS--Vancouver is one of my favorite cities in the whole world. I've been there twice...can't wait to go back again!)
Thanks for visiting!
yah, that post with the gold medal moment was awesome. I shared it all over facebook!!
NR - traffic is actually WORSE now... when the olympics was on pretty much EVERYONE left their cars at home, streets were surprisingly clear. Now, however...
:-)
(next time you visit we must have a redheaded drink... strawberry martini or something!)
DONE. For sure, in, all that!
