Presenting...

In an effort to keep truckin’ here on TNR, I’ve started a “rebranding” of sorts of just what this site is.  Allow me to break it down for you:

TNR is not:

• Interested in pigeonholing (I’ve tried to hole a pigeon, and it’s messy)
• Interested in being a slave to formulas for the sake of monetization
• Interested in following in anyone’s footsteps (seriously, I’m much more of a “make my own path” kind of girl)

TNR is:

• Frank, honest, and enjoys a well-crafted phrase
• Committed to seeing humor in everyday life
• Dedicated to doing (and helping others do) the Right Thing

Therefore, after that neat little package, I’ve decided that henceforth, upon this day, February 9, 2010, while the snow rains from the Ohio heavens like a white scourge, my motto/tagline/theme/whatnot here on The Naked Redhead is:

Life is fun(nier) when you’re naked.

I’ve realized that for the past couple of years, this little ditty has been my life’s song and my passion (and if they’re always telling you one thing on the “how to blog better" blogs, it’s “find your passion”).  I’m committed to living a life of “nakedness”…one where I am:

• a) honest with myself, my emotions, and my relationships
• b) invested in seeing the funny in life.

Because funny is more fun.  And naked is more fun.  And being really honest, well, it can sometimes suck (a lot), but it opens life up to a million possibilities for humor and enjoyment and laughter.  And being honest also helps us all to do the Right Thing…even if it’s having that hard conversation, or skipping over those new boots to help out a friend or family member, or talking to new people who scare and intimidate us or who we maybe just plain don’t like.  It’s speaking the truth without being rude, it’s opening up dialogue even if it’s uncomfortable, it’s saying, “I’m okay with who I am, and I’m okay that you’re who you are, even though we totally disagree.” 

It’s damn freeing is what it is.

So welcome…welcome to the new and improved TNR.  This site will now reflect the theme of "life is fun(nier) when you're naked" which means you'll have articles on relationships to articles on squirrels, from trying new things to long ranty-rants on forbidden words.  It might seem a tad random, but it'll be honest, it'll be funny, and hopefully--and this is a tad presumptuous, I know--it'll help us all be a little better at doing the Right Thing.

I hope you enjoy your stay.  Let’s get naked together. (Meow!)
