Dating Horror Stories: The Demanda

Here's a truly awkward one from The Demanda:

I suppose in the grand scheme of things it's not a horrible story, but at the time I wanted to crawl in the floor and die.

 

I had just broken up with my boyfriend of two years days before, pretty much to officially date my best guy friend I had. Ex didn't really know this. Ex and I decided to do the "Let's Stay Friends" thing, so he called me up and asked if I wanted to hang out with him, a few mutual friends, and his brother. I told him I had previous plans. Previous plans which included going bowling on a double date with my new guy and our two good friends, who are also our coworkers. Ex was understandably bummed (he was still in the denial stage), and the conversation soon died out.

 

Flash forward to later that night when me and my new guy arrived first out of our group at the bowling alley. We proceed to start reserving our lanes, getting shoes, etc when I hear an excited shout from behind me and I get tackled somewhat familiarly. Sure enough, it's my ex, followed by his brother and some of our mutual friends. He starts rambling on excitedly about how  he didn't know I was going to be here and golly,! All of us can hang out and we can spend some time together! (All I can think is fu*****k...) The bowling alley worker must have though this was cool with us, because he put all of our lanes next to Ex's lanes.

 

Word had gotten out that new guy and I were bowling with the coworkers, so within half an hour more employees, my new guys' mom (who is also everyone's boss), and some of the fellow managers showed up and joined our lanes.

 

I spent the next three hours with all of my new guy and all of our friends/coworkers (all of whom knew why I had broken up with my ex, and about new guy's and I relationship)  listening to my ex talk about our relationship, all of its high and low points, all the reasons we should get back together, that it's destiny, and that he'll always wait for me.

 

I have never felt so incredibly awkward in my life.

Kinda there right now with my own life. Ex boyfriend is still around....spending time with another guy....gets complicated.
