Buying a House is not LIke Buying a Pair of Shoes...Dammit.
For those of you who have been through the house-buying process, I feel as if I am joining an incredibly stressful but exhilarating club. I naively thought that buying a house would be much like buying a pair of shoes. I'd see one I liked, I'd love it, the price would be a little daunting, but I'd say to myself, "Self, you love this house and it will be beautiful for years and people will compliment you on it and you'll feel so pretty. Just do it."
Yeah, not so easy.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that. You know, just in case you were about to make the same mistake.

Just wait until you get to all the paperwork that needs signed before it becomes yours. I felt like I was signing my life away! =)
Welcome to the highly dysfunctional club!
It is a mixed bag really. One day you are thrilled about your membership, and others, well others you contemplate just giving your membership to the bum on the corner.
Your welcome basket is in the mail.
Or something.
I'm hoping to buy my first house in the next couple of years... and dreading the procedure that will need to take place before I can say the place is mine. Paperwork sucks balls. So do bank loans and interest rates and all that kind of stuff... but it will be worth it to live in a house that I can do whatever I want to, and have whatever pets I like, and know that I can't be evicted at the whim of a landlord :D
